Maître Kanmei Uechi, grand-son of the founder of the school, and current Soke of Uechi-ryu awarded the 9th DAN sensei Y. Nessie CET Malik 2007 à Futenma (Okinawa). On this occasion, M. Shimabukuro was also appointed head of the school of Soke for Europe.
